We protect our credit cards, our passwords and our houses, but how many people protect our computers with quality anti virus programs?

Many people don't realize that online protection is imperative as hackers, spyware, and viruses are eagerly waiting to grab your information and sell it, use it to steal your identity and profile you.

According to Google, 1 in 4 Australians have been a victim of identity fraud whilst 164 cybercrime reports are made daily to authorities.

This is a huge concern to me and that's why I am writing this article to warn you to do the following things to assist (not ensure that you wont get hacked) but to ensure you have made it harder for people to hack your computer and/ or your identity.

Top 6 things to help protect you.

- Update your computer with the latest updates and security fixes.
- Update the firmware on your modem.
- Use antivirus. - I recommend this one.
- Update all your apps/ programs.
- Never post personal information online.
- Dont click on any links in your emails if they look dodgey (always check the senders email)

These 6 steps will not completely make you hack proof because that's impossible, but it simply make it harder for hackers to specifically target you.

Download ESET today and get an extra month on me.

Please share this article with your friends on Facebook to ensure that they are more protected than they were.

Feel free to comment below. I'd love to hear your life experiences.

Until next time, have a great Saturday, Shane Bentley.
